Introduction

Corop Solar Farm & Battery has been selected as a successful project under the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) Tender 4, announced on the 9th October 2025.

The Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) is an Australian Government revenue underwriting scheme to accelerate investment in:

CIS Commitments

Projects are assessed against a range of criteria, including First Nations and Social Licence commitments. Projects need to outline an approach and commitments to:

Further information about these commitments can be found in the CIS Tender 4 Tender Guidelines.

The formal CIS Agreement between Corop Solar Farm & Battery and the Australian Government was signed in August 2026.

How the Scheme Works

The scheme provides a long-term revenue safety net that decreases financial risk for investors by providing investment certainty. This ensures more renewable energy projects get built.

The Government provides revenue protection. The project still sells its electricity into the market and earns revenue in the normal way. But if market revenue falls below an agreed level, the CIS can provide financial support. If the project earns significantly more than the agreed level, the Government can receive a share of the upside.
