The Project is expected to deliver affordable, clean, and reliable electricity for Victoria while offering economic, social, and environmental benefits, including:
• Powering up to 149,000 VIC homes with clean energy.
• Storing electricity in a 290 MW Battery for dispatch when needed most during peak demand.
• Creating up to 350 direct jobs during construction and approximately 6 operational roles.
• Creating procurement and employment opportunities during construction and operations.
• Funding community benefit programs.
• Enabling greater integration of renewable energy into the grid to help reduce market volatility.
• Supporting Victoria’s renewable energy and emission reduction targets.

Corop Solar Farm & Battery has been selected as a successful project under the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS).
This means the project has been recognised as an important contributor to Australia’s renewable energy future, with government backing helping to provide investment certainty and enable the delivery of reliable, clean energy and battery storage for the community.
The Government provides revenue protection. The project still sells its electricity into the market and earns revenue in the normal way. But if market revenue falls below an agreed level, the CIS can provide financial support. If the project earns significantly more than the agreed level, the Government can receive a share of the upside.
The project has made a number of commitments to provide long term benefits to the local community including:

OX2 is exploring opportunities to partner with regional TAFEs and Universities associated with our projects under development. The goal of this partnership is to establish scholarships that build the skills and knowledge needed for the renewables industry.
These scholarships could support a broad range of study options, including university degrees, vocational training, and short courses.

OX2 has established a Student Technology Access Program to repurpose company laptops no longer in use. These devices will be refurbished and provided to students at local schools, helping bridge the digital divide for those who may not otherwise have access to essential technology.
